How do I create my site in a new language?
There are two ways to add a new language. If you are using a standard design of Edicy then you can click on the "+Add" link next to your site's language menu. Choose a language from the menu, enter the name (title) of the language in the title box and click "Add language".
The other way is to go to "Settings" → "Structure" and choose "Add". Choose a language from the menu, enter the name (title) of the language in the title box and click "Add language".
How can I translate my pages into other languages?
Translated pages are bound to each other. If the visitor changes the language of your site then he is redirected to the same ("translated") page in the chosen language.
There are two ways to translate a page. If you are using a standard design of Edicy then you can see untranslated pages as greyed out in your menu. Click on grey page name (title) to translate it.
Or go to "Settings" → "Structure" and choose the language you want to translate into. Expand the list to see all the pages in your new site. You'll see the "Translate this page" beside each page that hasn't been translated yet. Click on the link – it will ask you to add a page. Type in the translated title of the page, click Create this page and recreate the page in the language you've chosen.
How can I change my default language?
Default language is the first language your page was created in and at the moment you can't change this yourself. We're working on adding this feature, so if you need to do it now, contact us on support@edicy.com.
Edicy isn’t available in my language.
We're always looking for people to help us make Edicy available in more languages. If you’re interested in helping us out, feel free to contact us on support@edicy.com and let us know what language you’d like to add or if you see any language errors that you could help fix.
How can I delete the language that I don't need any more?
Go to "Settings" → "Structure" and click on the "Manage" link next to the language menu. Choose the language you wish to delete and click on the "Delete" link.
NB! Deleting a language environment also deletes ALL content and pages in this language. Remember that there has to be at least one language left to make sure that your site is accessible for others.
How can I change display name (title) or language code of the existing language?
Go to "Settings" → "Structure" and click on "Manage" link next to the language menu. Click on the language name that you want to change. Here you can change the language code ("Select language") or the display name that is shown in the site language menu ("Language title").
