When your new website on Edicy becomes ready enough and you are going to show it to your friends and colleagues, then it's time to let Google know about it too.

Of course, all active sites reach search results someday on their own without your intervention, but it's so easy to speed up that process.  All you need to do is go and submit your site to Google yourself right now.

Usually it takes about a week for Google to add your site to its search results. Alternatively you can make the search giant notice your site just by linking to it from Twitter, Facebook or an ordinary website already indexed by them.

Getting into the search results is just the beginning of a journey though.
One's true goal is to get her site to show up in the first couple of results —  ideally every time when something closely related to her field of business is searched.

Search engines mimic human thinking very well – but only sites that have unique and interesting content will reach the top of the results. That's why your next task is to revise your site so that it will have great content which is also up to date. All in all, your site needs to be something visitors come back to and recommend to their friends.

If you are more tech-savvy, there's a way to manage how Google indexes your site. Just go and submit the whole sitemap to Google through it's Webmaster Tools.
